Trajectory?

Dear Centauri,

Some objects
only ever circle each other.

They close in—
loop after loop—
but never collide.

Maybe that’s what we are.

But I still think,
maybe just once,
we touched orbits.

Maybe you won’t remember the moment
our paths overlapped.

But I do.

And I’ll spend every lifetime
carrying the math of that
into the next.
